Glow in The Dark Cement

Strolling down the park would not be the same without the night lights to illuminate the paths. Powered by limited energy, alternatives for these night lights are to be sought for, especially in the urban areas. After 9 years of research, Dr. Jose Carlos Rubio from University of San Nicolas Hidalgo, Mexico, has shed a light on this particular issue. He successfully patented and created a type of cement that can glow in the dark.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ By eliminating the crystals by – products in cement, Dr. Jose Carlos managed to create cement that allows phosphorescent material to be seen. This cement will “absorbs” sunlight during the day, and will emit light up to 12 hours in the night and can retain its photoluminescence up to 100 years.
